There are 200GB of data on the USB hard disk and need to be copied to the windows2003server virtual machine in vmwareesxi4.1 , there are two methods.
I established a file server on the windows2003server server and used another computer to transfer it through the network, but I don’t know when it will be transferred to the 100Mbit network!
Second, add a usb controller and usb device to the windows2003server virtual machine, so that the windows2003server virtual machine can access the usb device like a physical machine!
I chose the second method, here are the specific steps!
1 First edit the virtual machine and click add.
2 Enter to select the device type, select usbcontroller here, and click next to complete the addition of usbcontroller.
3 Repeat step 1 above, enter the device type option, this time select usbdevice, and click next.
4Click finish to complete the installation of the usbdevice device.
5 Now you can see the added usbcontroller and usbdevice here.
The newly added USB hard disk has been discovered in the 6windows2003server virtual machine.
