How to enable VT on ASUS motherboard

On ASUS motherboard, enabling VT refers to enabling the processor's virtualization technology (VirtualizationTechnology), also known as VT-x. Virtualization technology is a technology that enables a computer to run multiple virtual machines (VirtualMachine) at the same time. Each virtual machine can independently run operating systems and applications.

Enabling VT (virtualization technology) can help improve the performance and functionality of the virtualization environment, especially when running virtual machine software (such as VMware, VirtualBox) or when using virtualization-related technologies. When VT is enabled, the virtual machine software can better take advantage of the processor's hardware virtualization support, providing better performance and broader virtualization capabilities. To enable Virtualization Technology (VT) on your ASUS motherboard, you can follow the steps below.

1. Restart the computer: Restart the computer.

2. Enter the BIOS setup: During the startup process, press the specific button on the ASUS motherboard to enter the BIOS setup interface. Common keys include Delete (Del), F2, F10 or Esc. The corresponding key prompt information may be displayed during startup.

3. Navigate to the Advanced options: Use your keyboard’s arrow keys to navigate the BIOS interface. Find the Advanced or similar option and press Enter to enter that menu.

4. Find virtualization options: In the Advanced menu, find options related to virtualization technology (VT). The specific name may vary depending on the motherboard model, common options include IntelVirtualizationTechnology, VirtualizationTechnology, IntelVT-x or AMDSVM, etc.

5. Enable virtualization technology: Set the virtualization technology option to the Enabled state. Use the plus, minus, or enter keys on your keyboard to change the status of an option.

6. Save settings: Find the option to save settings in the menu, usually labeled SaveandExit (save and exit) or a similar label. Select this option to save changes and exit the BIOS setup interface.

7. Restart the computer: After confirming to save the settings, restart the computer to apply the new settings.

The above steps may vary slightly depending on different ASUS motherboard models and BIOS versions. If you encounter difficulties or are unsure during the setup process, please refer to the ASUS motherboard documentation.

How to enable virtualization on ASUS motherboard?

When installing a 64-bit virtual machine, we need to use cpu virtualization technology to support it. Below I use my experience of enabling VT on my motherboard. Share the process of enabling VT on an ASUS motherboard. My motherboard is an ASUS motherboard and an INTEL CPU.

1. Turn on the computer and quickly press F12 or DEL to enter the BIOS.

2. Click AdvancedMode (F7) to enter the advanced options.

3. Click Advanced, then click CPUConfiguration.

4. Find IntelVirtualizationTechnology in the drop-down menu and change the option to Enabled under its submenu.

5. Press F10 to save and exit. The startup is successful.

Note: Different motherboards have different BIOS, but the principle is the same. First enter the advanced options and then enable it in the CPU options.
